Layered History

San Lorenzo in Miranda stands inside the ancient temple ruins of
 Antoninus and Faustina. This 7th century church is reputed to be the site of Saint Lawrence's martyrdom. Places like this,
where history is layered upon layer, are commonplace in Rome.

  2. When you travel in Europe you realize how little history the US has. Your photo shows such wonderful detail of the stonework.
    These structures were really built to last.
