Tower with a Twist

Construction work nears completion on the Infinity Tower of Dubai. It will be the tallest skyscraper in the world with a 90 degree twist. Incidentally it is designed and engineered by the same American firm that did the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building on record.

    A completely surprising and a little bit disturbing shape also. We wonder if the tower is going to resist or to collapse by turning on itself.

    I saw this building on BBC news too. :o)
    But only the top few floors will get to experience the full 90 degree twist, right?

    What a stunning example of modern architecture! Love the well chosen image display and the ‘cool’ blue hues. The inclusion of the figures in the window cleaning rig provides a great sense of scale.

    Reminds me "Turning Torso" the tallest skyscraper in Sweden.
