Saint Philip's steeple rises above a gated brick wall along Philadelphia Alley in Charleston's French Quarter. The day was bright and sunny, but when the image is rendered in black & white the mood becomes mysterious.

I agree Doug. The desaturation of this imate does indeed give it a very mysterious feel. Looks like a setting for a suspense/thriller. I can hear beat of a drum gradually getting louder.
ReplyDeleteLove the composition and lighting of this shot, very eye-catching and bewitching!
ReplyDeletewonderfully mysterious.
ReplyDeleteTajemniczy i piękny. Pozdrawiam.
ReplyDeleteMysterious and beautiful. Yours.
It's almost like a photo taken in infrared.
ReplyDeleteMysterious and beautiful.
this is NEVER an ordinary bw photo .... it's EXTRAORDINARY - could be an infrared exposure, or a heavy use of what we used to call a red filter ...
ReplyDeletehowever you did it, doug, this is incredibly beautiful and impressive in its tonal range !!!
fabulous!! great composition and pov
ReplyDeleteand what an excellent one!
ReplyDeleteextraordinary black and white, great charm inside it, good work Doug
ReplyDeleteThe contrast between the three textures... the brick wall, tree bark and the smooth plaster work of the tower creates a superb interaction - along with the slight IR effect.Superb Image.
ReplyDeletethis came out really well, great catch! :)
ReplyDeleteNice shot in BW. Love the lines of the tree and the church, reaching the sky. Nicely seen.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day.
