Old, Old Car, Danny's Classic Cars, Elko, South Carolina © Doug Hickok Er... well... some of us just age better than others. (Quick note: This post was inspired by a fellow blogger. When Becky and I drove past Danny's Classic Cars in Elko during our recent road trip, I was so excited seeing old cars, really old cars, that I simply HAD to stop and grab a few shots. If you would like to see some truly artful photography of old classic cars, please take a moment to see Otto Kitchen's work.) |
Goodmorning Doug
ReplyDeleteFantastic pictures with nice colors and licht....very well done.
Greetings, joop
I like these very much!
ReplyDeleteThe blue Dodge is awesome
Great!
Retired in SC.
ReplyDeleteBut if these cars could "live" in Havana.
I'm sure they could run for another 10 more years!
Few years ago, we had an ID4 celebration in London.
I saw a 1950s Dodge Coronet there!
It was really cool.
well it looks to me like someone's in the 'kitchen' with otto. these are splendid.
ReplyDeleteDoug, really beautiful images. Love the rusty colors. The images at the same time seem like happy ones to me. Love them! Thanks for the link.
ReplyDeleteAwesome, that's my favorite color, rust! Lovely details and textures.
ReplyDeleteCool shots Doug!
ReplyDeleteI like the textures and brightness on the first one. ;-)
a magnificent compilation of these old bangers! i like their color (or what's left) and the soft lines of their bodies (i mean the cars, of course!). and as you say, some just age better than others ... ;))
ReplyDeleteche scatti fantastici!
ReplyDeleteone of my favorite subjects and a fine collection of rust!
ReplyDeleteThese certainly feed my hunger for rust!
ReplyDeleteFantastic find, they make terrific images with the colours and rust. :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Rust!
ReplyDeleteThe colors combined with the rust make these photos so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteEach one of these images stands on its own, Doug. Totally my kind of old. :)
ReplyDeleteAll three of these are wonderful. I am already trying to figure out how I can get to Danny's.
ReplyDeleteIs that last one Mater? Wow, can you tell I have Pixar kids? Love this series of automotive decay Doug. The blues in the middle shot are still so strong and contrast beautifully with the creeping rust. Awesome!
ReplyDeletei see where you got the inspiration to shoot these.. but seeing it in full color is quite a shock.. they sure are aging quite badly.. :D great captures.. :)
