Connections

I try to imagine all the people whose hands have grasped the handle of this old car through its long life time. If one believes in six degrees of separation, the "friend of a friend" concept where everyone is linked by six steps or fewer, then I am connected to someone who knew one of these people...

and you are connected too.

  3. Silver, jade green and burnt orange. The colours complement each other so well. I sometimes think that if we left footprints wherever we walked how many times they would cross someone we know.

    1. We have friends that we know our footprints crossed...
When we were all in High School in Ohio, we visited each others schools for music programs.
But we didn't actually meet each other until we were in our 40's and all lived in Charleston!
Now, though they live in Colorado, we have that wonderful connection of friendship to tie us together.

  4. I agree with Joe's comment. The colors here make a good mixture. If we think to life, we can make connections everywhere.

  6. Ciekawy pomysł, ale nie tylko tak można się połączyć. Pozdrawiam.
An interesting idea, but not the only way to connect. Yours.

  7. Yeah, not sure if I believe in that 6 step connection. However, the photo reminds me of a friend in Kuching, Malaysia, also named Danny, who drives a similarly old car on its last legs!

  10. an excellent and very clever frame, doug! i like the off-centre "cross" shape and the rich texture of paint and metal!
(p.s. - the flowers in my post today ARE dandelions, very hardy plants indeed, but also intrusive in many areas ...)

  12. Ha.. of course, we're all connected.
For instance, I know you yaks, you know my cows.
So, my cows know your yaks.
One day, they can crossbreed to produce caks and yows.
Pretty much like how we started our human evolution.
Have we been inbreeding all these time?!
    I couldn't help but wonder...
