Homage to Rothko too

Old Red and Yellow Door, Auburn, Alabama  © Doug Hickok

The color on this old door is so vibrant...
so strong that it creates a visual tension.
I have to slip my sunglasses on while looking at the screen to keep my eyes from going bonkers...

(look here for the first Homage to Rothko.)

  11. very strong and dominant colors, and very reminiscent of abstract painting, as you say!
(i can understand your fondness of "northern" landscapes ... i feel the same way! the emptiness, the special light, the vegetation ... all these things combine to make it very special!)
