Porter's Lodge, College of Charleston, Charleston, SC © Doug Hickok What is that skittering sound? Is it coming from behind the door? I thought I saw a shadow flicker... Am I imagining things? No! I definitely heard it this time! They say there are ghosts all around Charleston. Could it be the ghost of General Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregaurd? Or did an alligator find it's way here from the swamp? Oh! There it goes again! I can't stand it... I have to look. Aw man... I'm so embarrassed. It's just up and coming rapper, Zee Puff Schmooie, on her iphone, tweeting her latest lyrics to her cookin' producer, A Cee. |

I love this colour combination of cool green and warm orange.
Well balanced!
Did you realize that you and Gen. P. G. T. Beauregaurd share a birthday?
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking his ghost was lurking around when you shot this!

ReplyDeleteYou have managed to capture so many interesting things in this rather minimalistic picture, Doug. The wonderful red and green colors, of course, but also the texture in the green. The slightly open door. I also appreciate your composition that creates interest in whats just out of frame, both to the left and in the alley to the right of the picture.
ReplyDeleteStrong colours in this picture plus the door, add in to make this a viewable picture. Great one.
ReplyDeleteI think this shot is perfect. The composition, the colors, the light, the texture...
