Tideland Reserve

Bennett's Point, ACE Basin, SC  © Doug Hickok

A shrimp boat dock at high tide is reflected in the Ashepoo River,
one of three rivers that makes up the expansive
ACE Basin National Estuarine Research Reserve.
The other two rivers are the Combahee and Edisto.
The estuary encompasses nearly 100,000 acres
and is one of the largest on the East Coast.
