Impressions of the Hohokam
Petroglyphs, Superstition Mountains, Arizona © Doug Hickok
Petroglyphs etched by the prehistoric Hohokam Indians
adorn volcanic rock in a Sonoran Desert canyon.
This artwork is about 1500 years old,
and depicts animals that were native
to the Superstition Mountains long ago.
