Looking Glass Rock

Looking Glass Rock, Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina

A view from the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway affords this portrait of Looking Glass Rock, located in Transylvania county, North Carolina. The monolith is named for the way it glistens like a mirror, especially when the evening sun shines following an afternoon rain. Sorry, no Draculas here, but rock climbers love it no matter what the weather is like.

  1. That blue hue in the distance and the flare of red in the shrubbery is terrific Doug.

  2. I love the contrast between the blues and the fall colors. Amazing shot!

  3. It's an amazing rock formation. Excellent capture of the pretty autumn colored trees.

  4. Great layers...
Looking forward to seeing it after a rain with the sun shining...
