In the blue shadow of lowering clouds, Mt. Herard and the Sangre de Cristo Range rises above the the Great Sand Dunes of Colorado. It has taken nearly half a million years for these dunes to pile-up in the San Luis Valley.

  1. A simply astonishing sight!
Superb capture of Mother Nature’s artistry!

  2. A fine landscape shot with interesting facts about the dunes. Nice one.

  3. This is really fascinating. These dunes combined with the mountains look really amazing. What a contrast!

  4. sure is a beautiful landscape.
