Misty Monday - West Quoddy Head

On a warm summer day in Maine, dense fog cloaks the coastline,

dramatically dropping air temperature into the cool 50's.
The West Quoddy Head Lighthouse sounds its deep fog horn,
penetrating the mist with a warning to approaching ships.

  1. We have wind blowing from the Antarctic down here today. I've just cranked up the heater a notch after looking at your photo.

  2. I like the reduced visibility the fog creates. A very fitting picture to go with the comment.

  3. Very atmospheric in that fog, Doug. I can just hear that fog horn...

  4. love the quiet mood i get from looking at this scene.

  5. Excellent BW and a great rendering of the misty mood. NIce!!!!
    Have a nice day.

  6. Now this is something my daughter would love! She loves lighthouses and also mysterious landscapes:)
