This fire plug standing sentinel next to one of Charleston's old cobblestone streets
is a reminder of the modern era.

  1. There not too many exposed fire hydrandts left over here Doug. The are all gradually being replaced by under ground units. After seeing the damage which results when a hydrant is hit be a car it is probably a good thing.

  2. Great composition here. The placing of the hydrants against the black background makes it "pop"
    (hydrants or hydrandts ?)

  5. A wealth of great detail, from the curved shutter holders to the mossy side-walk; and a strong composition that uses the shadow of the doorway to create the pop of the hydrant.
