Bamboo Forest, Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, Charleston, SC © Doug Hickok All Rights Reserved Soaring poles of bamboo grow thickly together to form a small grove, not in the panda populated forests of China, but in the semi-tropical gardens of Magnolia Plantation. Somewhere in the background I think I hear the music of the Doobie Brothers! |

ReplyDeletelovely, light and airy! great angle and perspective of this green canopy!
ReplyDeleteimpressive height and strength of these "bamboo trees" - the specimens in my garden are dwarfs in comparison ... and a nuisance as they keep growing in all directions! pretty soon i'll have to do something about them ... ;-)
(thanks for the birthday wishes for emilia! i'll forward them at once ...)
Whoa! Absolutely lovely.
ReplyDeleteLove the perspective. This photo reminds me of the film "House of Flying Daggers".
ReplyDeleteI like the upward angle and the soft greens and ochers. There is so much to see here…
ReplyDeleteHave you tried bamboo shoots?
ReplyDeleteThey're actually really yummy.

ReplyDeleteWonderful work with these natural lines! Really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day.
I really like the energetic lines and the glow of light filtered through the bamboo in this shot. I'm reminded of the chase scene in "House Of Lying Daggers" when they swing through the bamboo.
ReplyDeleteLike how you filled the frame here!
