On a High Horse

Equestrian Statue, Florence, Italy  © Doug Hickok  All Rights Reserved
(Velvia slide film)

Cosimo I de Medici rides tall and proud atop his bronze saddle in the Piazza della Signoria of Florence. And well he should... the Medici were great patrons of the arts, and put their indelible mark on the history of Florence
 and the Italian Renaissance.

  1. Your perspective heightens Cosimo's proud expression sitting way up there on his horse. I visited the piazza Signoria in 2008 and was blown away by the sculptures. Thanks for reminding me .. J.
