Even on a sun-splashed afternoon, a lighthouse beacon glows like the blacksmith's fiery furnace. Steady and reliable, it blazes regardless of weather or season, guiding boats safely to harbor and home. |
Superb shot... lovely light!
ReplyDeleteGreat job. Awesome. :)
ReplyDeleteI've been to Acadia National Park, Doug, but not there. We were on a time-limited excursion and went where the guide took us. I would have LOVED seeing this lighthouse!
ReplyDeletePretty picture Doug!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a quaint little cottage attached to the lighthouse. I always imagine lighthouse keepers to be tortured souls needing the isolation from an urban life. That are probably the nicest people who would invite you in for some pumpkin scones.
ReplyDeleteGood composition. I like your upward looking perspective and the desisive instant you clicked.
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy these lighthouses.
ReplyDeleteBeen here many times. What a shot in winter, if you ever get the chance.
ReplyDeletePodoba mi się latarnia i domek obok. Bardzo ładne zdjęcie. Pozdrawiam.
ReplyDeleteI like the lighthouse and the cottage next door. Very nice photo. Yours.
Great perspective on this old faithful Doug--how reassuring they must have been to the old seafarers.
ReplyDeleteIt beams more regularly and faithfully than the Old Faithful, eh?! ;)
ReplyDeleteHave I seen someone with an orange raincoat in this shot before?
Was that B?
wow that red is serious...
ReplyDeleteA working lighthouse with a long history no doubt. The small building beside it looks wonderful too. You have taken this at a great angle to catch both structures well and also the steepness of the cliff front.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter, who is a lighthouses admirer, would love this!
ReplyDeletedefinitely one of the most photogenic spots in the USA, i'd say ...
ReplyDeletei like how it's sized just like an average house.. :) you captured this scene in fine light.. nice work!
