I think it would be pretty cool to live in a sailboat or yacht as some people do. Charleston has plenty of places to dock your boat and enjoy the serenity of an evening on the waters of the city.
I like marinas and I visit them whereever I go near the seaside. These days I'll go to spent 2 weeks of my summer vacation in Montenegro and Albania, at their seaside. I presume I will have a lot of marinas to see:)
The yellow life preserver near the center immediately catches the eye. Ialso like the glass-smooth water and the hints of color in the early evening sky.
Oh yes, people actually do that in London. My new place is just 3 mins walk from the Historical Docklands. People moor their boats there permanently. Greenwich is about 20 mins walk from my apartment.
Absolutely. There is a certain romance to that lifestyle isn't there. I see the owners at the marina in Sidney BC, enmjoying those summer evenings on their vessels, chilled, happy and content and it alwaysseems so idyllic.
I guess then you have to balance that with practicalities like mooring fees, fuel costs and such but hey, to my eyes the romance is still very much there.
I stayed on a houseboat on the South fork of the river Skagit, Washington State a few years ago at the invitation of a fine photographer I met through my old blog, and it was an incredible, rustic, charming experience that I'll never forget. This is a beautifully atmospheric frame that has that air of romance and I can almost smell thewater in my nostrils.
Small world as LONDON CALLER lives right in my neck of the woods too, Greenwich Park being a childhood fave location of mine.
I like this very much Doug....i have a great love for the seas, boats and anything around them.....i like the composition of this photo with the masts cutting across the bridge and the lovely blue tones and the reflections....i guess that there is nothing that i don't love in this shot:)....peter:)
Fantastic colors!
