Window and Stop Sign, Old Barn, near Chillicothe, Ohio © Doug Hickok
Sometimes in life you have to take chances. You have to ignore caution, overcome fears, break out of your self-imposed comfort zone.
Sometimes you have to put away your "stop sign",
and charge full speed ahead.
(This "CHARGE!!!" is for you, Adam.)
Photo Note: This image was made on Kodachrome 64 slide film about 25 years ago, during what seems now the ancient times of photographic technology.

like it's subject it has aged quite gracefully.
ReplyDeleteLove this image, Doug. There is something about windows that capture my interest a lot. Your mention of Kodachrome reminds me of the Paul Simon song...'Kodachrome..You give us those nice bright colors, You give us the greens of summers, Makes you think all the world's a sunny day, oh yeah! I got a Nikon camera, I love to take a photograph, So Mama, don't take my Kodachrome away!' Had to give you some lyrics to compliment your vintage image!
ReplyDeleteI like the way the old paint is darker under the window. Nice anchor for the subject.
ReplyDeleteDoug! Great advise and a wonderful shot even if oldie!
ReplyDeleteI just love to stop by and give my eyes a treat. I am never disappointed. Today it is a stunning blue.

This is a real favorite Doug--I love the minimalist composition and dash of red. Keep these great old shots coming!
ReplyDeleteCes tonalités de bleu en camaïeu sont absolument magnifiques. J'adore !
ReplyDeleteTimeless!
ReplyDelete25 years ago, I started to eat Durian Durian. ;o)
i love everything that has to do with windows, doors and doorways in photography, and this is a remarkable image, doug! is the blueish tone a result of the aging process of the slide, or is it the authentic color?!?
ReplyDeleteGreat color and composition. What do you mean "seems like" ancient technology. You probably had to focus it yourself, meter it separately, or at least match needle to the shutter or apeture you selected. Barely one step above doping the glass negative yourself. LOL.
ReplyDeleteLove the minimalism of this picture, and the little red touch into the blue. NIcely composed!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day.
excellent framing and composition
ReplyDeletesuperbes textures et belles couleurs.

ReplyDeletePerfect balance & composition, I love this and could look at it for ages, just thinking.
