"The woods are lovely, dark and deep, but I had promises to keep..." promises to eat the sour cream doughnuts that awaited me back in the warmth of the house. |

Hi Giga - Yes, I was lucky to catch some of the sunrise light through the trees, which makes it look a tiny bit warmer, but not really :^)

ReplyDeleteYou are right yz, it was cold! The day we left Ohio, it was 15 degrees. Ouch! Today in Charleston it was 70!
Deletethis is a wonderful "wooden" image, doug, with very appealing colours. i like the contrast bw the dark trunks and the snow on the one hand, and bw wood and sky on the other. how did you manage to get the colour of the sky across so well ?!?
ReplyDeleteHi Franz - I happened to take the photo toward the east, just as the color of the morning sky turned warm from a muted sunrise! Also, just at that moment, angels started singing, trumpets started sounding, and confetti fell from the sky :^)

ReplyDeleteVery true... in fact the next day the sun warmed-up a bit, and the snow started melting! The fresh snow sure didn't last very long :^(

It's a half-yak half orangutan big foot.
Well LC, I looked really really hard and long for that Gruffalo, but had no luck. Yet, on the bright side, I did see a Madagascan Burrowing Cow rooting around in the woods :^) In Ohio! That was a real surprise!

All credit due to the master for leaving his warm bed for his art. But it was worth it for the fresh whiteness and early dawn light through the trees. Beautiful.
