Lush Window Box

Window Box, Charleston, SC  © Doug Hickok  All Rights Reserved
 (Velvia slide film)

A warm humid climate means long growing seasons in the Lowcountry,
hence window boxes lush with flowers and vines.
This is our compensation for not having traditonal autumn color.

  11. The caladium reminded me so much of my tropical hometown!!
I used to "breed" them in Malaysia.
If you cut the bulbs from different varieties into halves, mix them and join them again.
Next spring, you can get some new colours.
God, I can write a caladium Kama Sutra!
