America's Landmark Preservation Movement

The aptly named Rainbow Row was where Charleston's preservation
 movement began. A group of concerned citizens rescued
 a row of dilapidated houses here in the early 20th century,
 initiating a restoration project that eventually
 transformed the entire town.

Sorry for the week without posting photos. We had hurricane
 issues here in Charleston, and the aftermath of days
 without power. Wish we could have whisked ourselves away
 in one of these, so we could have avoided all the storm stress.
