Giant Sundial

Shadow of Burj Khalifa, Downtown Dubai, UAE  © Doug Hickok  All Rights Reserved

The shadow of the world's tallest building moves across
an arid urban landscape like a giant sundial. What time is it? Time to gape in disbelief at the Burj Khalifa's astonishing height!

To see more of my photographs from the United Arab Emirates see my new tumblr blog, Hue and Eye Photography.

  1. That is so cool, Doug. I assume you were IN that tall building while taking the picture. It's incredible to "see" its height by the scale of the other buildings!

Your tumblr site is just like here when you change the display setting to mosaic for special occasions?!

  5. The cars on the freeway provide a great sense of scale here - they are so tiny (!).
Love the bird's eye perspective and the almost vertical view to the ground.

  6. When I saw the top of your picture, I knew it was Dubai. We have also been on the Burj Khalifa.
