I try to imagine all the people whose hands have grasped the handle of this old car through its long life time. If one believes in six degrees of separation, the "friend of a friend" concept where everyone is linked by six steps or fewer, then I am connected to someone who knew one of these people...
and you are connected too. |
Really nice!
ReplyDeleteInteresting photograph, a fantastic idea. I am greeting
ReplyDeleteCool picture, intesting note on that 6 step conncection !
ReplyDeleteSilver, jade green and burnt orange. The colours complement each other so well. I sometimes think that if we left footprints wherever we walked how many times they would cross someone we know.
ReplyDeleteWe have friends that we know our footprints crossed...
DeleteWhen we were all in High School in Ohio, we visited each others schools for music programs.
But we didn't actually meet each other until we were in our 40's and all lived in Charleston!
Now, though they live in Colorado, we have that wonderful connection of friendship to tie us together.
I agree with Joe's comment. The colors here make a good mixture. If we think to life, we can make connections everywhere.
ReplyDeleteFor example... through photo blogs!
DeleteNice!
ReplyDeleteThose two colors match together very well (glad it's not my car...)
You're right :)

Ciekawy pomysł, ale nie tylko tak można się połączyć. Pozdrawiam.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting idea, but not the only way to connect. Yours.
Yeah, not sure if I believe in that 6 step connection. However, the photo reminds me of a friend in Kuching, Malaysia, also named Danny, who drives a similarly old car on its last legs!
ReplyDeleteTotalement superbe cette rouille et son rendu est magnifique ainsi que les couleurs de cette vieille voiture. Belle photo.
ReplyDeletegreat framing and fantastic rusty mood
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeletePerfect Doug.
an excellent and very clever frame, doug! i like the off-centre "cross" shape and the rich texture of paint and metal!
ReplyDelete(p.s. - the flowers in my post today ARE dandelions, very hardy plants indeed, but also intrusive in many areas ...)
Hey, that's my old car!
ReplyDeleteNo, only kidding!
J'adore ce genre de photo, superbe cadrage.
ReplyDeleteHa.. of course, we're all connected.
ReplyDeleteFor instance, I know you yaks, you know my cows.
So, my cows know your yaks.
One day, they can crossbreed to produce caks and yows.
Pretty much like how we started our human evolution.
Have we been inbreeding all these time?!
I couldn't help but wonder...
neat frame. wonderful textures
ReplyDeleteNice rust shot with just enough car to give it context.
ReplyDeleteWonderful crossing lines, textures and colors. I love your thoughts on human connections--really nice post Doug!
ReplyDeleteI believe! I want to be connected to something like this!!!
ReplyDeletevery nice rust colors!
ReplyDeleteFantastic colors and textures! I really like the composition!
ReplyDelete:)
That's a fantastic composition (I like scrapyards!!) and I like your idea of connecting it with the concept of the six degrees of separation :)
ReplyDeleteGreat find with this detail showing perfectly the dusty texture of metal. Nicely done!
