Fiery Beacon

Even on a sun-splashed afternoon, a lighthouse beacon glows like the blacksmith's fiery furnace. Steady and reliable, it blazes regardless of weather or season, guiding boats safely to harbor and home.

  2. I've been to Acadia National Park, Doug, but not there. We were on a time-limited excursion and went where the guide took us. I would have LOVED seeing this lighthouse!

  4. Looks like a quaint little cottage attached to the lighthouse. I always imagine lighthouse keepers to be tortured souls needing the isolation from an urban life. That are probably the nicest people who would invite you in for some pumpkin scones.

  9. Great perspective on this old faithful Doug--how reassuring they must have been to the old seafarers.

  10. It beams more regularly and faithfully than the Old Faithful, eh?! ;)
Have I seen someone with an orange raincoat in this shot before?
    Was that B?

  12. A working lighthouse with a long history no doubt. The small building beside it looks wonderful too. You have taken this at a great angle to catch both structures well and also the steepness of the cliff front.
