Life Savers

Life Savers, Folly Beach, SC  © Doug Hickok

Not only do life savers give life saving support to sailors lost at sea, but they also provide chic decor for landlubbers dining outdoors at this Folly Beach restaurant.

  3. sorry for "playing truant" for four days, doug, but here i am again, full of praise and admiration for the pictures you have posted in the meantime! i like the one of the old cemetery best, as i am always drawn to graveyards myself when i am travelling. (don't thing i'm morbid, though ... i just feel they are places that tell us so much about the culture of a place, and they ARE so very full of atmosphere ...).
and i checked the link to the book site ... and joined! so thanks for that, too!
    take care! f.

  9. I love the weathered look. Things that have been used have more appeal for me than zippy-dippy glitz. Reminds me of the Japanese wabi-sabi.
