Mulholland Point Lighthouse, Campobello Island, New Brunswick © Doug Hickok From a atop Mulholland Point Lighthouse, on Campobello Island, a view of the mist shrouded Bay of Fundy is framed by a window. On a clear day, you can see forever, and ever, and ever, and ever more... well at least all the way to Small's Cove, and Deep Cove, and Broad Cove, and maybe even to Chocolate Cove (there are countless coves in this part of the world). Oh, and did I mention Carrying Place Cove, and Lord's Cove, and Otter Cove, and... |
Gorgeous framing!
ReplyDeleteNice composition. I wonder how far to see when the sky is clear? :)
ReplyDeleteLike the windmill B&B we stayed in, Astrid and I have wondered if there's such a thing as a Lighthouse B&B anywhere in the world, Doug. Wouldn't that be something! If you know of such a place, please let us know. The view would be to die for.
ReplyDeleteGreat old window, so high up, I want to live at the top of a lighthouse,,,M
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the view from the Cape Hatteras lighthouse on the Outer Banks of NC. Only the shape of the window differs and the fact that I can no longer climb that many steps. But your photos alway make me feel like I'm right there so no need to climb.
ReplyDeleteHope to have another version in a clear day ;)
ReplyDeleteOn close inspection that is a very interesting window. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful view. Don't know that I would want to be up there in a storm though.
ReplyDeletea wonderful look at ... not much! but that's what mist and fog are all about! very well seen and captured, doug! hope you had nice easter holidays!
ReplyDeleteIt is a view made for the purpose of the Lighthouse's existence Doug....on a clear day the light is not as important to those who pass at sea.....great photo and imagination....i love the Bay of Fundy....greatest tides in the world....peter:)
ReplyDeletelovely framing through the window.
ReplyDeleteI saw a lot of coves in Portland too!
ReplyDeleteGreat for cove smuggling.
How many pineapples do we need to fill up the Chocolate Cove?
Have you tried chocolate-coated pineapple pieces before?
This lovely shot of the Fundy transports me thousands of miles and decades of time. You've taken me home Doug--thank you!
