Ash Wednesday - Angel of Alms

Magnolia Cemetery, Charleston, SC  © Doug Hickok

Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, traditionally begins a time of prayer, fasting and alms giving for Christians around the world.

If you are in the frame of mind to give alms this Lenten season, please take a moment to visit the site of one of our fellow photographers, Sidney.

  8. a very touching and poignant image, doug, and beautifully cropped. i also like the selective focus that works so well here. (and thank you very, very much for taking the time to view my charleston album and for commenting on it. too bad we could spend only the better part of a single day there, as we liked it very much. i guess we'll have to return some day! there's also an album about my visit to the great smoky mountains n.p. on webshots, if you have nothing else to do .... ;-)) take care!
