Contemplation

Ferns and Bench, Thuya Gardens, Mount Desert Island, Maine  © Doug Hickok

This solitary bench placed next to a lush growth of ferns seems the perfect spot for quiet contemplation... maybe on this week's celebration of green and the first week of spring.

Something else for you to contemplate is the photography link below...

When walking along the street, have you ever had the sudden urge to bust a ballet move, perhaps leaping into the air and performing a grand jete´ ? Then you will appreciate this set of intriguing images.

  1. Gorgeous carpet of green Doug. And amidst it all this entirely inviting bench beckons the weary. I'd like to rest a spell here.

  2. As it must be nice to sit there on that bench in the middle of a beautiful countryside. A nice place to relax and forget the little worries of life

  7. Almost looks like you would have to wade into a lush green patch of fern just to sit down. Id be ok with that though :)

  10. Lovely shot Doug, that green is intoxicating - and probably posted 6 days too late!!!. Incidentally, I know (of) a man named Fred who used to dance all around the streets, especially when raining!.
