Saint Philip & the Spider

Backlit by late afternoon sunlight, the Spider Fountain at Waterfront Park glistens like a gossamer web against a Charleston skyline. Seen in the distance is Saint Philip's steeple standing tall above the French Quarter.

    Great use of the black and white, just perfect for the lighting and the subject. hand held or tripod?

      I'm trying to think back to when I made this image... I believe it was hand held. Perhaps another option would have been to use a tripod for a longer exposure. Thanks Ron.

    great contours and contrasts, fantastic monochrome tonality! the jets of water really stand out and add a strong dynamic element to an otherwise dreamy image ...
